have looked over the report which you enclose and the map, and would recommend that your area be studied and mapped
This yiel de geologically on a scale of one mile to an inch. good standard resul te, and a reliable base for most purposes (82500)
It is practically the standard of the United States and the standard I adopted for the Geological Survey of
Canade, for detailed work,
Certain areas on account of economic
importance or en account of complicated and critical phenom- ena may require more detailed treatment, but they are usually of small extent and may be treated separately. A good topographic map on a scale of at least one mile to an inch will be required se a base map
A larger scale map would on which to record the geology. be even better. I presume your area has been sccurate) y mapped by the Admiralty and the military so that these base maps would be available for the geologist. If not, this topographical work should be done. It is unsatisfactory and excessively cost) v for the geologist to do the topography himself. Admiralty charts will give at least the coast line accurately so that the geologist would have these to work on while the topographer is surveving the interior. If you haven't accurate maps on the required scale and have no topographer, I might be able to secure a thoroughly experienced topographer for vou.
